It is with broken hearts that the family of Mary ‘Clara’ (Murray) McKinney, loving wife of Elvin McKinney, wish to announce her passing, which occurred on June 3, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 12, 1932, in Chandler West, PQ, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose Anne (Foulem) Murray.
She had a strong sense of duty as wife and mother and an equally strong sense of conviction, Catholic faith, and devotion to Our Lady that served to comfort and strengthen her throughout her life. She was always loving and accepting of all those around her and had a compassionate and kind nature with a great sense of humour. We will miss you, Mom.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons; Allen, Ron (Jane), Lewis, Neil, and Christopher, her daughters; Carol Wood (Bruce), Donna Scribner (Darrell), Lynn Martin, and Shyanne Parks (Richard), her brothers; Benoit and Irenis (Donna) Murray, grandchildren; Cara, Amanda (Eric), Trevor, Danielle (Devin), Dwayne, Ashley (Kirk), Meaghan (Arlo), Greg (Jenica), Lauren (Alvin), Mallory, Kristy, Kelsey (Daniel), Katie (Nick), and Hannah, her 14 great-grandchildren, and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son Terrance, grandchildren; Jodi and Erin, son-in-law Brad Martin, daughter-in-law Linda McLeod, brothers; Raymond, Harvey, Edmond, Russell, Leo, and Lawrence Murray, and sister Laura Hunt.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), where visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 4-8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Stella Maris Church, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Stella Maris Maintenance Fund, the East Saint John Food Bank or the SJRH Palliative Care Unit would be deeply appreciated by the family.
