Mary Brushett
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Mary A. Brushett of Grand Bank announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Sunday, August 27th, 2023, at the age of 89.
Mary was born and raised in Jacques Fountain where she met the love of her life Richard and was married at 18 years old. She loved her family more than anything. Her family was her world and she cherished each and everyone of them. Mary loved going to church and held onto her faith until the end. She enjoyed knitting, reading and telling stories from the good old days.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her daughter, Marion of Nova Scotia, son, John (Goldie) of Grand Bank, daughter, Alvina of Grand Bank, son, Richard (Beverley) of Stephenville and daughter Amy (Chesley) of Grand Bank; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Joyce) of Deer Lake, Harry (Ann) of St. John’s and sister, Rhoda of Ontario; sisters in-law, Ivy Brushett and Olive Johnson; plus a large circle of close family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by husband, Richard; daughter, Jessie; granddaughters, Mandi and Holly; son in-law, Wayne; parents, Jessie and John Johnson; sisters, Sarah, Annabelle, Gladys, Annie; brothers, Bert, Abraham, Thomas.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place.
The Brushett Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 2:00 pm ~ 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm ~ 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Grand Bank, NL, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 am. Inurnment to follow at All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Fortune, NL.
In Mary’s memory donations may be made to the Holly E. Bartlett Memory Bursey at Xavier University, Antigonish, NS or the Autism Society of NL, No flowers by request of the family.
