Obituary For Martha Jane Binns
Martha Jane Binns, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at home, at the age of 47 years.
She was a very talkative, outgoing, passionate, utterly hilarious, and compassionate.
Anyone who knew Martie, would express how she was tremendously loyal, brave, powerful, faithful, sincere, committed, and benevolent. When you were around her you would burst out from her contagious laugh.
Martie admired watching the Edmonton Oilers play, they were her favorite. She was a seeker for knowledge, and very keen on education; always doing trivia and reading autobiographies and politics.
She loved spending time with family, especially her godsons, and would usually have the latest gossip to share. Martie loved cooking for everyone and having fires.
Martie was enthusiastic about the outdoors and loved everything about it. She took care of birds, made sure her garden was tended to, loved all animals, and enjoyed helping on the farm. Martie felt exhilarated when she would drive the side by side or jenny the jeep, blasting her playlist for all to hear!
Martie was an inspiration, whether it was just watching her do a crossword while sipping on her chai tea double spice, or singing loudly and dancing around the house.
Anyone who knew her, knows we could write a book on how amazing, dedicated, strong, and passionate she was. We will miss her immensely; but we know she is still with us in our hearts.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Alexa and Laura; brother Morgan and his family Leah, Denton, Linden, and Fraser; brother Daniel and his family Allison, Rory, and Piper; as well as her father Donald.
Martie was predeceased by her brother Patrick Binns and mother Mary-Clare Binns.
A Viewing was held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 4:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie.
A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 3:00pm, at the Bezanson Community Event Centre (9901 100 St.).
Memorial Donations may be made to the family to plant trees in Martie’s honor (trees4mart@gmail.com).
