Obituary of Mark Anthony Halbot
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Mark Halbot announce his passing at Western Regional Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 54 years.
Mark was born in Toronto, Ontario on January 27th, 1969 and moved to Sandy Point, NL at the age of six months old. Mark was a talented musician, singer and songwriter and had penned a lot of original songs including one he wrote about his childhood home of Barachois Brook. Mark loved to sing and play guitar and could often be seen busking on the streets of Stephenville. He was a very lovable, outgoing person and loved to be the centre of attention. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mark had a lot of courage, was a good friend and was always willing to give a helping hand to those who needed it, especially his mother.
Mark leaves to mourn his mother, Frances Laverna Halbot of Barachois Brook; grandmother, Ida Colombe of Shallop Cove, daughter Leah Cormier of Stephenville, sister Marilyn (Dwayne) Pollard of St. George’s, brother Kenny (Lisa) Halbot of St. George’s, special friend Mary Hynes of Stephenville, his grandson Marcus and a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mark was predeceased by his father Gerald Halbot, sister Lillian Halbot, grandmother Annie Rose Halbot and grandfather Frankie Joe Colombe.
As per Mark’s wishes cremation will take place.
Donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation or a Charity of One’s Choice.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Parish Church, St. George’s @ 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Edmund Dantes officiating
