Obituary
Marjorie R. Wortman, 93, of Moncton, passed away peacefully within the comforts of her home on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late William and Ada (Lewis) Murray.
Marjorie worked at many things over the years; she worked for Marvin’s Biscuits, The T. Eaton Co., and partnered with her husband in the running of the family business, Wortman Enterprises Ltd. But her main focus was raising her children, always putting their needs before her own. She enjoyed curling and was a member of the Moncton Curling Club. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the IODE Sir Charles G.D. Roberts Chapter. She was an avid badminton player in her day and she and her husband, Lorne, won the provincial mixed double championship. She enjoyed going to auctions, knitting, with a lot of her work being donated to local schools and hospice.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Stephen Wortman (Lana), Christine Wortman, Brent Wortman (Susan), Neil Wortman (Renita), Margo Greene (Phillip) and Amy Bradbury (Scott); 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brother, Arnold Murray (Phyllis); as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lorne Wortman; grandchildren, Todd Wortman and Stephanie Bolger; sisters, Arlene, Audrey and June; and brother, Elroy.
In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes a private family gathering will be held. Interment will take place at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
