Marjorie Elizabeth McGoey passed away peacefully Friday April 21, 2023, surrounded by her children
Marjorie McGoey was in her 96th year. Marjorie was the life long partner and beloved wife of Tom (deceased) for 43 years. Cherished mother of Tod (Donna), MaryJane (Mike) Lorraine (Mark) Rosanne (Mike) and Jackie (John)
Granny will be missed by her grandchildren Ben (Kathryn), Mark, Mitch (Susannah), Chad, Mali, Marisa, Tye, Devon and Brock and her great granddaughter Quinn.
Marj was the last surviving member of the Porter family from Beeton. She will have a great reunion with her 11 siblings and their spouses. Connie, Winnie (Harold), George (Noreen) Nancy (Fred), Grace (Claire), Jean (Jim), Jim (Thelma), Helen, Eileen, Agnes (Spence) and Kay (Jim)
Marj worked for 12 years at the Toronto Star until she was married. After all her children were in school she worked at the family business McGoey Brothers Insurance Company for over 30 years.
She was intelligent, hardworking, funny, and was always up for some fun. She loved to tell a good joke and loved puzzles, jeopardy, scrabble and a good card game.
The family would like to thank Simcoe Village and Simcoe Manor for the great care they have given Marjorie over the last 12 ½ years.
Visitation will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, on Friday May 5, 2023 from 4-8pm and the Funeral Mass will be Saturday May 6, 2023 at 11:30am at St James Catholic Church Colgan,2118 Adjala Tecumseth Townline, Tottenham, ON, followed by a reception at Rod Abrams Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Hearing Society would be greatly appreciated.
