Phillips, Marjorie Dolores (McFadyen) (December 7, 1930 – August 24, 2023) –
Passed away, peacefully, after a long and well-lived life, Marjorie Dolores (nee McFadyen) Phillips, a resident of Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock, on August 24th, 2023, at the age of 92. Marjorie was born in Cobourg, to parents Eldon and Clarabelle (Deguerre) McFadyen. Marjorie was a resident of Woodstock for the past 13 years and a very dedicated member of St. David’s United Church, Woodstock. Marjorie enjoyed watching television and was an avid reader, in her younger years she enjoyed camping. Marjorie was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Predeceased by her husband Cy Phillips (1977). Lovingly remembered by her children and their families: Deb (Michael) Gouin, of Tillsonburg; Lynn Oulahen, of Woodstock; Cathy Tarrington, of Cobourg; Jim (Lori) Mitchell, of Thorold. Also survived by her 9 much loved grandchildren, 18 special great-grandchildren, as well as by nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her sister Clara Yvonne Christie.
In keeping with Marjorie’s expressed wishes, a traditional funeral service to celebrate her life and faith will be held in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway St., Tillsonburg on Monday, August 28th, 2023 at 12:00 noon, by Rev. Jeff Smith, of St. David’s United Church. For those wishing to attend digitally, the funeral service will be livestreamed. A direct link will be provided on Marjorie’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com (under photos and videos), approximately half an hour prior to the service. Everyone who knew Marjorie is invited to attend a public visitation on Monday, August 28th, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, in the funeral home chapel. Public burial will take place on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Cobourg Union Cemetery (110 Elgin Street West, Cobourg).
