Marion Jean Mackay (Merkley) of Okotoks passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on February 19, 2023 at the age of 80 after a battle with Parkinson’s. Marion will be greatly missed by her four children; daughters Lenora (Ron) Dumais of Calgary, Alberta; Brenda (Greg) Campbell of Midland, Ontario; Heather (Rob) Carter of Drayton Valley, Alberta and son Robbie Mackay of Okotoks, Alberta; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Grant and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marion was predeceased by her daughter Donna Mackay, her husband Donald Mackay, her father Simon, mother Marion, brothers: Lynn, Mark, Clifford, Archie, Charlie and sister: Ethel.
Marion will be remembered for playing card games mainly crib, she could add your crib score before you even had a chance to look at your cards. Her presence was so pure and gracious to everyone she met or knew.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses on the 3rd floor of the High River Hospital, the care you gave to mom was absolutely amazing and we are forever grateful.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday March 2, 2023 at 2pm at the Snodgrass Funeral Home in Okotoks. Internment to follow at Okotoks Cemetery.
