Caley, Marilyn (nee Wardlaw) Marilyn Caley (AKA Messy, Mom, Mary, Granny) passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023, at the age of 78, after a lengthy journey with Alzheimer’s with her loving husband by her side. Her mother Debbie, and sister Elizabeth, waiting to greet her. Born in Ottawa, Marilyn moved to Peterborough when she married the love of her life, Reginald Caley. She loved decorating her home for every occasion, big or small. She was a collector who never missed a yard sale. She loved music, particularly Elvis Presley. But most of all, she loved entertaining and making memories with her family, especially her grandchildren. She would never say no to spending time with them; crafting, playing, dancing and baking. Her famous date squares and butter tarts will definitely be missed. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 53 years, Reg Caley, her four daughters, Stephanie Drumm (John), Rhonda Lustic (Daryl Anderson), Jennifer Caley, and Natalie Jinks (Tommy) and her true loves, her seven grandchildren, Shamus, Emma, Adam, Keegan, Liam, Aidan, and Finn. She is also survived by her sister Margaret, brother-in-law Lowell, sister-in-law Ruth, brother-in-law Murray and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough, ON, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. with Memories of Marilyn to be shared at 2:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Fairhaven LTC or The Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family. If you pass a Tim Hortons on your way, stop in and pick one up for Marilyn.
