Marilyn Anne Pateman of Moosomin, SK and formerly McAuley, MB passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital on Saturday Dec 31, 2022, at the age of 71 years. Marilyn was predeceased by her son Cory; brother Dennis Heaman and parents George and Agnes Heaman. Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her husband Gordon; daughter Kelly (Mark); son Eric (Melissa); grandchildren Brooklyn, Quinton, and Tyler. She also leaves to mourn her brother Bruce and sisters; Marlene, Sandra (Murray), Susan and Marjorie, along with many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was born Sept 18, 1951, the third of seven children (first girl) in Virden, MB and attended school in Archie with her siblings. On July 8th, 1972, she married Gordon Pateman and settled near the family farm in McAuley, MB. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a large celebration of family and friends at the family farm in McAuley, MB. Marilyn and Gordon were blessed with their daughter Kelly in 1975 and sons; Eric in 1977 and Cory in 1980.
Marilyn enjoyed many hobbies and spending time with family and friends; golfing, baking, sports, camping, quilting, sewing, baking, crafting, gardening, playing cards, etc. She enjoyed spending her summer months at Oak Lake Beach and her winter months in Magic Valley, Weslaco, Texas where she spent many a happy hour with friends.
She was a lovely wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by everyone. For those who so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Moosomin & District Health Care Foundation for the Southeast Integrated Care Centre P.O. Box 1470 Moosomin, SK S0G 3N0, in memory of Marilyn.
A graveside service will be held at McAuley Cemetery, McAuley, Manitoba Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. MB. A Celebration will take place following the interment at McAuley Rink.
