Obituary
Irene O’Brien, 82, of Moncton, surrounded by the love of her family, passed away peacefully within the comforts of her home on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Born in Drummondville, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Julien “Jules” and Alice (Blais) Croteau.
Irene will be sadly missed by her daughters, Julie O’Brien (Steve) and Elizabeth Leaman (Bernie); cherished grandchildren, Jason, Nolan, Jesse, Shannon and Candice; many great grandchildren and extended family members and her great friend, John Wood.
In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband, Gerald “Jake” O’Brien; sons, Robert, Stanley and Leonard.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday January 7, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate and Honour Irene’s Life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel immediately following the visitation hours at 2:00 pm. Reception will follow the service. Interment to be held Colpitts Community Settlement Cemetery, Colpitts Settlement, spring 2023.
