Margaret Zsifkovits passed away peacefully on Monday morning (July 3, 2023) at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington after a strong and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was age 79.
Born June 6, 1944 in Wulkaprodersdorf, Austria to Agnes and Viktor Dragschitz, she moved to Canada in 1963. Beloved and devoted wife to Martin Zsifkovits for 57 years. She will be dearly missed by sons Michael and Mark (Valerie) and grandkids Sebastian and Penelope, her brother Joe (predeceased), sister Hilda, and their families.
Forever remembered for her infectious laugh, kindness and respect for others, love of children, and her beautiful garden. She was a wonderful cook, baker, and created the best soups ever tasted. She loved living in Canada and was very proud of her Austrian heritage.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date. Condolences are welcome at www.canadiancremation.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation in Burlington (jbhfoundation.ca) or The Canadian Cancer Society (support.cancer.ca) are greatly appreciated. We are incredibly thankful to the nurses and doctors who cared for her.
