Fleming, Margaret (nee Broad) (December 30, 1924 – August 18, 2023)
Passed away, after a long and well lived life, Margaret (Broad) Fleming is happily reunited in Heaven with her husband Norman Fleming (1989). Margaret died peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on August 18th, 2023, in her 99th year. She was a resident of Chartwell LTC, Aylmer and formerly of Straffordville and Tillsonburg. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Alice (Bell) Broad, her brother Wm. Broad (and wife Marie), her sister Doris Haley (and husband Murray), her sister Shirley Carroll (and husband Scott), as well as by her son, Brian Fleming (2005). Survived by her caring daughter-in-law Diana Fleming (husband Clyde Frampton), of Straffordville and by several nieces and nephews. Margaret will be remembered by many as an avid golfer at Tillsonburg Golf Club, where she won a record number of ladies championships. In her later years, she golfed at Ingersoll Golf Club. Margaret was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for many years at the Delhi Research Station.
In keeping with Margaret’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends, neighbours, and relatives are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, August 31st between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. (service time) in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg. Memorial service follows at 1:00 p.m., by Chaplain Tina Dias. Private inurnment will take place later in Springford Cemetery.
