Margaret Laird Freeman (nee Dimond)
Died peacefully on January 28th, 2023 at the age of 96 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, Ontario with her nieces by her side.
Marg was born on the family farm in Lynn Valley, Simcoe on October 28, 1926. She was the dearly loved daughter of Jeanetta and Edward Dimond.
Marg was the loving wife of Thomas Freeman. They built a happy life together on HiView Farm in Waterford.
Marg was the dearly loved sister of James Dimond and Winnifred Allan; and sister-in-law of Jean Dimond, Audrey Dimond, Don Allan, Helen Freeman and Edna Adastik.
Marg was the much loved aunt of Laird Allan, Beth Allan and Dan Wiseman, Catharine and Nestor Kostyniuk, Heather Allan and the late Mike Elrick, and nine great-nieces and nephews. Marg was very close to her many cousins throughout her lifetime.
Marg lived in the Simcoe area for 91 years where she influenced a generation of children as a kindergarten teacher. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church and was an active member of the choir.
Marg was a gardener, a musician, a traveller, a quilter and our family historian.
Gratitude is expressed to the staff of the Egerton Neighbourhood of The Village of Arbour Trails, Guelph for their comfort and loving care of Marg in her final years.
