  1. I’m so sorry to learn of Margaret’s passing – she will be greatly missed. Margaret and Don were wonderful friends to our family for more than 60 years – a friendship that began when the Burleys lived on Varsity Ave. and the McKechnies on McGill St. in Niagara Falls. After Marg and Don moved to Oakville and then Toronto our parents Archie and Ann McKechnie had years of happy weekend visits with them, always playing bridge, hiking and sometimes sailing. They spent many New Years Eves together. Mum and Dad had the greatest affection and respect for them both, and enjoyed their kindliness, warmth and humour. After Don’s passing, Margaret was a special guest at Mum and Dad’s 60th wedding anniversary and Mum’s 90th birthday – and since moving to Halifax, she made a point of staying in touch by phone and letter. I greatly appreciated her cheerful wisdom and kind interest in us all. Margaret and Don will always be remembered, with love and gratitude.
