Margaret “Anne” Dobbin
December 2, 1940 – February 23, 2023
It is said that grief is love with no place to go and, when a journey ends, those of us who watched the wanderer bravely walk the last of her journey are left with our mourning, and our admiration for a courageous traveler who braved the storms of life’s challenges and basked joyfully in the love and affection of family and friends.
We, the Dobbin family, have lost another of our own. Pre-deceased by her parents, Paddy and Gwen (Blandford) Dobbin; and sisters, Deborah Geraldine and Gwendolyn Mary.
Anne has finished her journey and leaves behind her brothers, Patrick (Lucy Power) and Bill (Kathleen Crocker); sister, Elizabeth (Baxter Baker); nephew, Colin Patrick Canary: nieces: Erin Lorien Dobbin and Deborah (Jason Van Meer), Kimberly (Mike Coggins) and Gillian (Mark MacDonald): grandnephew, William MacDonald; and grandnieces, Lylah Van Meer and Elizabeth MacDonald.
Anne was a gentle and caring spirit, filled with the zest for life and a thoughtfulness for others. She was a person of dignity and quiet grace, and faithful to the promise of Heaven’s reward. She will be missed.
We will chisel Anne’s name onto the granite slab beside those of other family members who have gone ahead and, as with them, we will carve her name deep into our hearts and joyfully remember her time with us. We will speak of her often in memories laced with melancholy, tears joined with laughter, and always with the forever thankfulness for the treasure of having had her as one of us.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 from St. Teresa’s Church at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s memory may be made to The Gathering Place.
