Donnelly, Margaret Ann Whitelaw (nee Alexander) (March 9, 1936 – August 27, 2023)
It is with sadness, that we the family of Margaret Ann Whitelaw (Alexander) Donnelly, wish to announce her peaceful passing, on August 27, 2023, at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg, at the age of 87. Margaret was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Margaret will be remembered for her 30 years of dedicated volunteering at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed reading, watching and feeding birds, gardening and her family. Survived by her much-loved husband of 66 years, Lawrence (“Larry”) Donnelly, of Tillsonburg. Lovingly remembered by her children and their families: Leslie-ann Mills (Rod), of Burlington and her children Shona (Stephen), Caitlin (Matthew) Stacie. Special great-grandmother to Sadie, Aleda, Abigail, Audrey, Emilee, Eliza, and Kayden; Glenn (Florence) Donnelly, of Burlington and their children Keelin, Nolan, Ciaralyn, Ashlyn. Also survived by cousin Norma and special niece Cateriona of Scotland. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Margaret (Brown) Alexander, as well as by her three siblings James, Doreen, and Ann.
In keeping with Margaret’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honour Margaret’s life and memory will be held at Walton United Church (2489 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville) on a date and time to be announced soon. Everyone who knew Margaret is invited to share favourite memories, photos, express personal condolences or contribute memorial donations to the “Maple Manor Residents Activities Fund” (by cheque) or to the “Terry Fox Foundation”, via Margaret’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
