Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Madonna Shirley Pittman announce her passing on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit in her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Sherry (Rod), Susan (Otto), and Christine (Grant); sons: Terry, and Bern (Roxanne); long-time companion: Leo McCarthy (deceased); daughter-in-law: Patricia; sisters: Betty, Patsy, and Corina; brother; Christopher; special nephew: Marcell Lavers; two special nieces: Frances, and Marie; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Madonna is predeceased by her four sons: Jack, Jim, Peter, and Paul; daughter-in-law: Diane; brothers: Jack, Bud, Pat, Andy, and Leo; sisters: Nora, Mildred, Agnes, and Frances; and her precious great-great-grandson: Jaxson.
Madonna was a lady with great love for her family and was very courageous in all endeavours of her life. She will live on in our hearts forever.
There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 at the Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, at 10:30 AM with Bishop Bart van Roijen officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Madonna’s memory to the Janeway Foundation.
