Obituary of Madeline Ann Jewson
Madeline Ann “Midge” Jewson passed away suddenly at home in her 75th year after a brief illness.
She is survived and loved by Fred, her husband of 52 years, and her children Heather (Greg Peres), Sara (Mitch Guerin), and Brad (Amanda), who are the pride of her life. Sorely missed by grandchildren Jonathan, Steven, Thomas, Winnie, Norah, Julie and Nathan.
Midge dearly loved family gatherings; especially at the Haliburton cottage. She revelled in the prized art work and loud, joyful games with her grand kids. Midge was a revered teacher of secondary school students.
A strong advocate for women in professional and political life, she served as Chair of the Perth County Board of Education and on St. Marys town council. Hosting bridge parties, playing golf, swimming at the Pyramid Centre, and cooking gourmet meals for friends and family gave her joy. Midge had a big voice and an even bigger heart. She will be missed by every life she touched.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral arrangements are not finalized at this time.
