Dawson, Dorothy Mabel (nee Gulley)
Died peacefully on Saturday Friday March 3, 2023, at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 85.
She was a daughter of the late John and Olive Gulley. Beloved wife of the late Clare Dawson and loving mother of Bob (Marguerite) Shaw, Wanda (Jim) Ree and Wayne (Glennis) Shaw. Mabel was the proud grandma of Angela (Joel), Tracey (Brad), Selina (Justin), Austin (Rebecca), Joshua and Fred and cherished great grandma of Hudson, Jona, Iris, Ayla, Brooke, Wesley, Owen, and Spencer. She will be missed by her sister Joan Rowbotham. Mabel was predeceased by her sister Mary Hiltz.
Mabel was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Mabel owned the Upper Cut hair salon in Collingwood for many years where she enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with friends while doing their hair. She loved singing and music and enjoyed sharing this gift with others. Mabel had a green thumb, and she could often be found tending to her beautiful gardens.
As per her wishes cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. As an expression of sympathy donations in Mabel’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
