It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lynne Diane Horn on March 6, 2023, peacefully, after a long illness, with her dearly loved niece Julia Milner, her sister Donna Horn and sister-in-law Allison Wolf at her side.
Lynne’s niece Taralyn Fodor was there in spirit and had the chance to speak with her aunt the day before her passing. Lynne’s eldest brother Robert Horn connected with Lynne by phone from Mexico. Lynne’s youngest brother Glenn Horn and sister-in-law Loretta Novac were able to visit with Lynne on her final day.
Lynne, born in 1941 in Edmonton Alberta was the eldest child of Edna Horn and Robert Horn. Lynne is sadly missed by her siblings, sisters-in-law, her much-loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
As a young woman in her 20s Lynne had the opportunity to travel around the world. A treasured photograph shows Lynne standing in front of the pyramids in Egypt.
Lynne was a long-time resident of Vancouver and had the good fortune to live in the same apartment in the heart of the Cambie St. village for forty years. She worked as a hairstylist and loved photography. Her home was filled with photos of friends, family, flowers, and landscapes.
Lynne was a devoted Soka Gakkai International (SGI) Buddhist for 49 years and a much-loved member of her Buddhist community. Many of her fellow members have reached out to share their personal stories of how Lynne supported them through hardships and challenging times. A memorial is being planned by members of the SGI with the date yet to be set.
In closing, we wish to offer special thanks to Lynne’s physician of many years Dr. Jyothi Jayaraman for her kind and loving support.
