Lynette Padarath
Lynette Padarath, retired teacher, passed away peacefully on Friday May 26, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Edward Padarath (deceased), loving mother to Prem (son) and Michelle (daughter-in-law), sister of Rodney (Joyce), George, Lloyd, Claire (deceased)(Harold) and Constance (Kenneth).
Lynette had a long teaching career which started in Trinidad and continued when she immigrated to Canada. She was an elementary school teacher who also taught Special Education, as her deepest love came from helping children with learning disabilities. She also worked with many of the new Canadian immigrant children to help them adjust to the Canadian school system and the Canadian way of life.
Lynette loved travelling, so every school break she and her husband would enjoy a trip (long or short) and relaxing with her family. Reading, sewing, playing music and gardening were also areas where she felt relaxed and happy.
After retiring from teaching, she would be found volunteering with members of her church, York Memorial Presbyterian, at the city Blood Bank, the local Food Bank and Church Bible School Camp.
Her most enjoyable moments in retirement, were taking day trips driving to different places with her husband. They also enjoyed dining out choosing various restaurants and just living their retirement days quietly.
When she gave up those activities due to health, she focused on praying for family and friends as part of her morning and evening routine; answers to prayer brought her great joy.
Lynette also supported many charities: Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Cancer Research Society, Women’s College Hospital, Heart & Stroke, The Scott Mission, Samaritans Purse, Yonge Street Mission, Latin America Mission and World Vision.
Lynette will be missed very much by her immediate family, extended family and dear friends.
Donations can be made in her honour to any of the charities listed above.
