And so Lukas’ family and friends collectively and individually mourn the loss of our son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend, Lukas Michael Gravelsins. Lukas’ death was so unexpected, so sudden, that none of us has really been able to come to grips with it. All that we know is that our loss is immense. It is a shattering of all that we know. His laughter, his shining smile brought so much happiness to all those who knew him. Lukas was a devoted son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson and friend to many, who love him so much. Lukas was a gentle and kind, funny and sweet soul. He had a brilliant and complex mind. He loved reading medical journals and court transcripts and enjoyed a good debate. He also loved skiing with his father, scuba diving and snorkeling in the Caribbean with family, camping each summer at Killbear Park and spending special time with his sister and good friends.. He loved his collection of Telfar handbags and loved laying on the beach in the warm sun. His brilliant brain loved science and the aesthete in him loved all things beautiful. He was, and is and shall always be our golden autumn boy. Taken from us too soon. Our lives will forever now be tempered with the great sorrow we feel at the loss of our beautiful Lukas.
Family and friends will be holding a memorial to celebrate the life of Lukas Gravelsins. The event will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Junto Studio, 925, Suite 201, Dupont St. Toronto. The gathering will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the studio will remain open until 4:00 p.m. to provide people with a place for casual conversation, shared remembrances, and other less formal interactions. Light refreshments will be provided.
