Luella Sine (formerly Norfolk, nee Bailey) born June 9th, 1942 in Highwater, Quebec. Deceased Friday, February 17th, 2023 in Brockville General Hospital aged 80 years.
Survived by her husband, Donald Sine and her children, Jennifer Norfolk and Jeffrey Norfolk. Also survived by her sister, Roberta Beek, her stepchildren Robert Sine, Terrell Sine and Julia Provost, as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Luella’s life began in the beautiful eastern townships of Quebec which she left for the big city of Montreal to work at CN as a stenographer. Marriage to David Norfolk and the birth of her two children eventually led to her move to Brockville, Ontario. She worked at several places in and around Brockville, landing eventually at the Leeds-Grenville School Board office where she worked as an administrative assistant until her early retirement in the late 1990s. She married Don Sine when she was in her fifties and spent 25 years with him travelling across Canada and the United States by car and RV, accompanied by their beloved Schnauzers, Schultz and Sophia.
She was always creative and expressed it through her love of sewing, cooking and baking. So many of us reaped the rewards of these gifts because she generously shared them with everyone in her orbit. Thoughtful and kind, she would quietly give of her time, whether it was volunteering in the Palliative care unit or to her church. She was an avid gardener and found her most profound joy when she was spending time tending the flowers and plants and animals that lived in her beautiful garden on Perth Street. We will miss her quiet and loving nature.
A funeral service will be held at Centennial Road Church, 3545 County Road 27, Lyn, Ontario, on Wednesday, February 22 at 11 am. All are welcome. Those who wish to do so may make a donation in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of choice. There will be no reception afterwards.
