It is with heavy hearts that we announce the expected yet regrettable passing of Lucette Henriette (Sauvage) Doussaud on August 14, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Mayenne, France to the late Henri Robert and Marcelle (Guimond) Sauvage.
Lucette was a very talented seamstress who, for many years, made clothing for well known Canadian individuals. When she left the clothing business, she showcased her cooking skills working as a Chef at the Delta Hotel. Lucette was a very kind and caring individual, who garnered a healthy respect from all that knew her. She was direct, she was honest, she was quiet. She spent hours outside in her gardens tending to her flower beds, and her neighbours just loved her. She was a huge fan of family gatherings, hosting a monthly dinner where she made everything. Lucette was a lovely woman who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her son, Max (Dawn); her grandchildren, Steve (Ashley), Marc (Shelly), Josette (Eric) and Max Jr.; her adored great grandchildren, Gavin, Desiree, Arianna, Kale, Xavier, Darienne and Lincoln; as well as her brothers, Xavier and Alan and her sister, Katherine. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Claude.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with her wishes, no visitation will be held. A funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 12pm from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will be held on Monday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations to the SPCA- Animal Rescue League or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
