It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Lorraine Cloutier on February 27th, 2023 at the age of 79. She lived graciously and courageously with breast cancer until the very end. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Michelle (Stuart), son Donald (Debbie), grandsons Justin (Ericka), Devon, Daniel, granddaughters Alyssa, Erika and Meagan, and her great-granddaughter Poppy Alison-Rae. Lorraine was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Raymond Cloutier in 2020, her parents, Joseph and Esther Savoy and brother Donald (Gisele).
Lorraine was born in Renous, New Brunswick, growing up on the family farm. She attended Business College and began working in Hospital Administration at St. Michael’s Hospital, later starting a career as a Compensation Specialist in the Federal Government until her retirement. She travelled to many places in Canada as a result of Ray’s military service, retiring in Edmonton, Alberta, settling in Dugald, Manitoba.
Lorraine was known for her love of family and friends, enjoying time spent with them on camping trips, cruises, holiday vacations or quiet times at home. She also enjoyed curling and later on in life watching the tournaments and cheering for her favorite teams. Lorraine was a devout Catholic attending Mass regularly, she also devoted many years volunteering in the community and for various charities. Her grace, beauty, style, strength, courage, kindness and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of all that have known her. Heaven has gained an Angel.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Health Sciences Centre and Beausejour Hospital for their kind care of our mother in her final days. A private Mass will be held at a later date for family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cross Cancer Institute of Alberta, Cancer Care Manitoba or a charity of one’s choice.
