It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Henry Sterling Lloyd Rice at the age of 81 years. Lloyd passed peacefully away Sunday July 16 2023 at the Long Term Care home in Goose Bay surrounded by his family.
Lloyd leaves to morn his loving wife Myrtle of 57 years, twelve children; Shirley (Dean) Loretta (Greg) Bernice (Garett) Aubrey (Lilly) David , Randy ,Stephen (Paulette), Stephanie (Anthony), Terry(Tracy),Brian (Christine) Velma (Larry) &Calvin (Doris), twenty-seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Lloyd also has three brothers Mark, Nelson (Frances) Dawson (Joan) and four sisters Sadie, Chloe (Maurice),Nancy (Ross) and Donna ,along with many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents James and Cassie Rice, sister Mae, brother Aubrey, parents in law George and Olive Furlong, sister in law Annie and 3 grandchildren Kathleen, Burton and Samantha.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Green Bay Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023, with a time to be determined.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, July 24th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church in Roberts Arm. Interment to follow at the Pilley’s Island Cemetery. Majors Larry and Phyllis Fudge will be officiating.
Special thanks to the staff at Long Term Care in Goose Bay for their care and compassion showed for Lloyd during his time there, Dr. Crocker and staff at the Labrador Grenfell Health Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be graciously accepted by the family.
