Obituary
Ljubisa Petrovic died suddenly of natural causes on April 3, 2023 at the age of 80. He is survived by his sons Sasha and David, his daughter Vesna (late James William Duncan) and his granddaughter Samantha. Survived by his wife Branka (nee Martinov) and brother Slobodan Kirkic (Mila). He was predeceased by his father Jovan Kirkic and his mother Ljubinka (nee Budic) known as Louis or Louie, he was born in Mala Kamenica in Serbia, former Yugoslavia. He grew up in Negotin, Serbia, where he met his wife. They both came to Canada in 1970 and made Georgetown, Ontario their family home with their three children. Louis was a very shrewd businessman who built Auto Master Transmission brick by brick in the seventies; he spent most of his life working incredibly long hours, and always welcomed friends after working hours at the shop with a cold beverage, home cured prosciutto, smoked bacon & stories that lasted throughout the night. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and made very good company. Louie also enjoyed spending his weekends snowmobiling, fishing and hunting at the family cottage by the shores of Lake Simcoe. He never said no to adventures where occasionally they landed him in hot water. He overcame plenty of hardships throughout his life, and encouraged people to always choose forgiveness. Perhaps his greatest joy in his last few years was spending time with his granddaughter at the maple sugar bush each March Break, as well as eating ice cream cones together in the summer. He loved being free to do whatever his heart desired. He lived his life on his own terms, and died peacefully on his own terms. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday April 12 ,2023 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow immediately in the Trafalgar Room. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown. Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
