It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the age of 94 years. Son of the late Josephat and late Malvina (née Dequanne) Carrière. Beloved husband of the late Marie-Jeanne (née Dubois) Carrière. Loving father of Robert (Denise), Estelle Filiatreault (Lucien), Clément (Suzanne), Gaston (Sylvia) and Constance Lortie (Jean-Noël). Dear brother of Lucien (late Yollande), Réginald (Claudette), René (late Claudette), Denis (Madeleine), Lucille (late Léo-Paul), Georgette (late Claude) and Denise (Raymond). Predeceased by his siblings Armand (Cécile), Gérard (Marie-Jeanne), Rhéal, Germaine (Jacques), Gertrude (late Armand) and Rita (late Léon). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Donald, Chantal, Serge, Yves, Luc, Guy, Gilles, Noël, Corrine and by his great-grandchildren Hannah, Conner, Jacob, Isaiah, Titus, Julia, Jenina, Jekarina, Jenalynn, Jeremiah, Cameron, Liam, Jack, Gigi, Rylie, Jake and Tessa. Lionel enjoyed camping, especially at Grundy Provincial Park. His winters were spent in Florida. He loved music, dancing, playing cards and bingo. Cher frère de Lucien (feue Yollande), Réginald (Claudette), René (feue Claudette), Denis (Madeleine), Lucille (feu Léo-Paul), Georgette (feu Claude) et Denise (Raymond). Prédécédé par ses frères et sœurs Armand (Cécile), Gérard (Marie-Jeanne), Rhéal, Germaine (Jacques), Gertrude (feu Armand) et Rita (feu Léon). Il sera également regretté par ses petits-enfants Donald, Chantal, Serge, Yves, Luc, Guy, Gilles, Noël, Corrine et par ses arrière-petits-enfants Hannah, Conner, Jacob, Isaiah, Titus, Julia, Jenina, Jekarina, Jenalynn, Jeremiah , Cameron, Liam, Jack, Gigi, Rylie, Jake et Tessa. Lionel aimait faire du camping, surtout au parc provincial Grundy. Ses hivers se passaient en Floride. Il aimait la musique, la danse, jouer aux cartes et le bingo.
