Obituary
With deep sadness, the family of Linda June Bamford announces her sudden passing on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Linda was born in Hopeall, Newfoundland on June 16, 1947, daughter of William and Margaret “Peg” Piercey. She settled in Saint John in the late sixties to start a family, pursue a career, and took an active role in the family business into the 90’s.
Linda was a hardworking and loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her close friends and family and was especially close to her sisters Marg, Alice, and Joan. When they were together, their non-stop laughter was infectious. She also enjoyed holding exercise classes for others, community gardening, and taking in shows at the Imperial Theatre with her close friend Betty-Ann. Linda worked at Baxter Foods for over 20 years and was thrilled to serve customers at a local jeweler later in her career.
Linda is survived by her children Anthony (Caroline) and Stephen, grandchildren Gregory, Ava, Sophie, Kennedy (Brandon Boutcher), Kenzy, and Emerson, and sisters Margaret and Joan, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Douglas, Neil, Ralph and sister Alice.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately, and arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home in Saint John. A donation will be made in Linda’s memory to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, for the Hemodialysis Clinic, where she received warm care before her kidney transplant.
