Lillian Roberta Wilcox
1937-2023
The passing of Lillian
Roberta Wilcox (nee Green) wife of the late Albert Wilcox occurred at
the Grand Manan Hospital on Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was born
on November 29, 1937 in Chatham, NB to the late Harold and Pearl (nee
Craig) Green. Lillian was a devoted wife mother, grandmother and
sister; she loved her family deeply. Lillian is survived by her six
children: Roberta Brown (Bill), Kenneth Wilcox (Johanne), Margaret
DeMerchant (Diten), Graydon Wilcox (Charlene), Susan Rideout (Jasper)
and Russell Wilcox (Darlene); sisters: Hazel Green, Winnifred Mooney,
Alice Langille; brother: David Patterson and numerous, grandchildren,
great grandchildren, cousin, nieces and nephews. Beside her husband
and parents, Lillian was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Watling
and grandson, Joey Wilcox.
Lillian’s
passion for art (30 years +) included dedication to the Grand Manan
art community and beyond as an artist, teacher and mentor to many.
Painting was her way of smiling at the world. She was a past member of
the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church and attended Immanuel Family Church in
recent years, her church family played an important role in her
life.
Arrangements in the
care of the St. George Funeral Home
(755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Visitation will be held
at Emmanuel Family Church, Grand Manan on Wednesday, February 1, 2023
from 12 noon to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the
church directly following visitation at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ward
McComiskey officiating. The interment will be held in the Maple Grove
Cemetery in the spring. In Lillian’s memory, donations to
Charlotte County Cancer or the charity of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated by the family.
