Obituary of Lester Douglas
Peacefully, on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the QEH, surrounded by close family and friends, Lester lost his arduous cancer battle. We can’t thank the tremendous staff of the PEI Cancer Treatment Center enough as they diligently and compassionately cared for Lester throughout his illness.
Loving father of Tanya Cudmore, Timmy Cudmore (Roseanne), Angela Banks (Kendrick) and Wayne Douglas (Stephanie). Dear grandfather of Peyton, Brianna, Erica, Ben, Kate and his granddogger Cosmo, who will miss him very much. Survived by brother David (Marie), sister Jane O’Brien (Lloyd) and sister-in-law Anita Douglas and brother-in-law Garry O’Brien. Predeceased by his parents Coffin and Elizabeth (Johnston) Douglas; sisters Joan Desmarais (Pat) and Judy O’Brien; brothers Paul, Leonard and Jamie; nephew Philip and niece Jessika Douglas.
As a carpenter for over 40 years, Lester built not only homes, but long lasting relationships. He will be remembered for his work ethic and generous spirit; always lending his expertise and time and helping out whenever he could.
His smile and laugh will be missed by all that knew him, but we are at peace knowing his battle is over.
Lester was an active member of the North End AA group. The friendships Lester made through the AA program enriched his life and were particularly important to him over the last months. Any donations can be made to this organization which helped him and continues to help so many others.
It is unfortunate that Lester was an avid Leaf’s fan. He is, however, at peace in that he’s not missing any playoff games. He was able to watch his last one with some of his favorite people and this will be a cherished memory.

In lieu of traditional services, a Celebration of Life will be held at Fox Meadow Golf Course from 2-4 pm on Sunday June 4, 2023. We invite family and friends to stop by to offer condolences and share memories of Lester. Remarks by the family will take place at 3 pm.
