Leora Thiessen, beloved wife of the late Norman Thiessen, passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023 at the age of 90 years.
Funeral service from the Kola Evangelical Mennonite Church, Kola, Manitoba on Monday, June 12 at 10:00 a.m. (CST.) 11:00 a.m. (DST). Interment in the Church Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to Sunrise Villa, Maryfield, in memory of Leora.
VISITATION: for family and friends on Sunday, June 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. (CST) at Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Moosomin.
Mom was born on December 26, 1932 to John and Elizabeth Friesen in Winnipeg MB.
Mom accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptised upon the confession of her faith at the age of 16.
Mom and Dad were married September 14, 1952. In 1958 they moved from the Steinbach area to Maryfield SK where they bought a farm. Mom was dad’s support in all their ventures while farming.
They moved to Maryfield in 2009, and after dad’s passing, and because of health issues, she made her home at the villa.
Mom passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Moosomin Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman in 2015, and her son Byron in 2013. Mom is survived by her children Dale (Janet), Cheryl (Harold) Friesen, Rhonda (Tim) Sweeting, Myra (Wes) Kroeker, Brian (Frieda), Steven (Leanna), 17 grandchildren and spouses and 26 great grandchildren and spouses.
