Léonard Gaudet, 91, of Moncton, passed away
on Monday January 30, 2023 at the Villa du Repos. Born in Juniper, he
was the son of the late Théophile and Exelda (Holmes)
Gaudet.
Prior to his retirement, Léonard was a
mechanic for trucks with Universal Sales.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Suzanne
(LeBlanc); two daughters: Annette Léger (Donald) of Moncton
and Gisèle Thellab (Claude) of Dieppe; two sons:
Réginald (Giselle) of Moncton and Daniel (late Rose) of
Colorado; five grandchildren: Luc (Véronique), Troy
(Bobby), Céline, René (Brianna), and Eric
(Emilie); two great-grandchildren: Anaïs and
Pénélope; three sisters: Anita Collette (Alfred)
of Leominster, MA, Edith Warwick (Garry) of Kingston, ON, and Maria
Tapper (Charles) of Auckland, New Zealand; four brothers: Emery
(Jeannita) of Leominster, MA, Normand (Yvonne) of Lakeville, Tilmon
(Rose) of Saint-Paul, and Edgar (Dianne) of Seabright, NS; as well as
several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two
sisters: infant Alice and Sarah; and one brother,
Alban.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900)
on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at
Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Monday
February 6 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Saint-Paul-de-Kent parish
cemetery. In memory of Léonard, a contribution to Nazareth
House or a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
