Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Leon McLaughlin announces his passing on August 30, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Newcastle,
NB, on July 29, 1962, he was the son of Jean-Paul and the late Lucienne (L’Huilier) McLaughlin.
Leon was an electrician by trade, and if you look anywhere at the Saint John skyline, he probably had a hand working on it. He also loved hunting and was excited to go duck hunting this weekend. Leon was always one to think of others and would do anything for anyone. His last act of giving was to share the gift of sight to someone. Leon will live on in the good he did and the hearts he touched.
Leon is survived by his brothers Jean-Claude (Linda) Mclaughlin, and their children Jean-Guy and Nicholas; Rhéal (Joanne) McLaughlin, and their children Nicholas and Stéphane McLaughlin; and Albert (Laura-Lee) McLaughlin, and their son Mario Savoie. He is also survived by his sister Linda (Claude) Gallant, and their children Roland Gallant and Mélissa (Raymond) Daigle. He will be missed beyond measure by Scott Peterson (Erin Roper) who was like a son to him, and their children Trey, Bree, Haylie, and Ashley.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646- 2424). Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 3PM – 7PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be held in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 4PM. Donations in Leon’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
