Obituary of Len Pryor
Leonard “Len” Pryor passed away at home, surrounded by his family on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the age of 84 years.
Len was born in the family home at Pryor’s Beach on Last Mountain Lake, SK on May 12, 1938. He was a man of many interests and strong opinions and was active in many community organizations.
Len was an avid supporter of the arts, a strong advocate for the Concerned Citizens for Senior Care, STEM Saskatchewan, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and an election volunteer. He had a special bond with his fellow Freemasons and he had lots of hobbies like curling (both playing and coaching), amateur radio, fishing, golfing and music. He was very well read and had a talent for memorization. Len loved spending time with his family at their cabin at Ministikwan Lake.
Len leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, and best friend of 60 years, Sharon Pryor (nee Noyes); children, Cheryl (Gavin) Dow, Vicky Pryor (Tim Wahl) and Ian (Melinda) Pryor; grandchildren, Sarah (Trevor) Smith, Angela (Andrew) Larson, Justine (Jonden) Chickeness, Cameron (Tristan) Dow, Rumor Pryor (Jed Locke), Sydney Pryor (William Koerhuis) and Jacob Pryor; great grandchildren, Marcia Smith, Molly and Claire Larson, Hadley, Edwin and Jack Chickeness and Nora Pryor-Locke; siblings, Jack (Betty) Pryor and Betty Low; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Daryll) Christie and Brenda Wilm; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, special family friends Bev and ‘Bear’ Deacon, a close knit community of neighbours and many other friends far and wide.
Len was predeceased by: his parents, A. K. “Toss” and Jean Pryor; his sister, Jeanette Pryor; brothers-in-law, Michael Noyes and Robin Wilm; and close friend, Bill Till.
A Celebration of Life in memory of Len will be held at a later date.
As Len would say, “So long and thanks for all the fish…” (Douglas Adams)
In lieu of flowers, consider a life-giving blood donation or a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Paul Naudé of Lloydminster, Dr. Julie Stakiw of Saskatoon and the kind staff at the Lloydminster Hospital and clinic. Len, himself, was deeply grateful to all those who have ever donated blood.
