Obituary of Lenora Jean Lanteigne
It is with an appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Lenora Jean Lanteigne announce her passing, which occurred on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 1, 1942 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late John and Florence (Stevenson) Peters.
Prior to her retirement, Jean had a 30 plus year career with NB Telecom. She was famous for her slight obsession with clothes shopping. Jean was also well known for her love of jewelry and for acquiring watches. She enjoyed socializing and throughout the years her words of wisdom have been shared with many. She liked poetry, drawing, a game of pool or cards and for those who really knew Jean, you will never forget the enjoyment that dancing brought to her.
Jean was the loving mother of Lolita (Richards) Cromwell (Larry), Mitchell Richards, Kyle Richards (Nancy), Joel Richards and Lucrecia (Richards) Morgan (Brent). She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Paula Richards and was the wonderful sister of Bernice Moshett (Ovid) and David Peters (Martha); the proud grandmother of 15 much-loved grandchildren; the caring great-grandmother of many great-grandchildren; the special aunt of several nieces and nephews; as well as the adoring mother of Misty who was Jean’s precious and very spoiled feline companion. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse Lanteigne; twin daughters, Lenora and Denise; son, Peter “Peejay” Richards and brothers, Leonard Peters and Lorne Peters.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at which time the funeral service will immediately begin at 2:00 PM all from Brenan’s Chapel. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Jean’s obituary on the Brenan’s website. Interment will take place at a later date in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
