On January 28, 2023, Mr. Lawrence “Lorne” Montpetit of Edmonton passed away at the age of 83 years.
He leaves behind to mourn his daughter, Lori Lee Montpetit, of Edmonton; siblings: Nora (Terry) Allen of Rumsey, Donna (Larry) St. Germain of Red Deer; nieces and nephews: Edward, Connie (Wayne) Hebert of Edmonton, Shelly, Nathan Philip Wylie, Lisa Michelle, Francine, Ellie; numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews, cousins, other friends and family.
Lorne was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette; parents, Wilfred Montpetit and Eleanor Jensen, both of St. Albert and Edmonton; sister, Marlene Clark; brothers, Ed and Ron; nephew, Michael.
Lorne was a member of the Legion for well over 50 years. As per his wishes, cremation will take place and he will be interred with Jeanette at Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Lorne’s life held at the Cornerstone Hall in St. Albert at a later date. Details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Youville Home or to Kipnes Centre for Veterans.
Parkinsons laid claim to Lorne, but we lay claim to our memories of him. He will never be forgotten.
