It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my Mom on Thursday, May 18, 2023 in her 91 st year. Loving wife of the late Joseph Armand Bernard Lalonde and beloved Mother of Diane Lalonde-Adam (Jeffery Adam). Cherished Nana to Elizabeth Adam (Josh Peppers). Laura was predeceased by her parents and four siblings. She will be greatly missed by her family including her sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Laura was born in Prince Edward Island and moved to Ottawa where she met my Dad in 1956 at a dance at the YMCA hall on Metcalfe Street. They married on July 29, 1958, and so began their love story. They loved to play cards, go bowling and host many family gatherings. They loved spending time with their granddaughter. In their retirement years they got the travel bug and traveled to such places as Hawaii, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain and Greece. Her laugh was infectious, and she was known for her kindness. She truly made the world a better place to live and will be truly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road, (at Aviation Parkway), Ottawa. A graveside burial will be held later with the immediate family.
