Larry James Melville passed away peacefully surrounded by love on January 5, just shy of his 82nd Birthday. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Sharon (Hughes); sons Paul, Todd (Kim), Jason (Andrea); grandchildren Jelene, Corbin, Brodie, Logan, Carter and Kaci. Brother of Sharon Barnes and Jackie Iredale.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Max and Dorothy Melville, brothers Max, Bill, Ricky and sisters Joan and Dorothy.
Larry and Sharon owned and operated Melville Heating for many years. Larry was an automotive enthusiast, loved cars, drag racing, flying… anything with an engine. As much as he enjoyed these things his passion was his children and grandchildren and was a father figure to many.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, January 8, from 1-4 p.m. A graveside service will take place at Avondale Cemetery (Section 25D) on Monday at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Huron Perth, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Stratford Perth Humane Society or a charity of one’s choice through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
