PLETSCH, Larry Laverne Arthur, 78, of Stratford (Perth East), passed away in St. Marys General Hospital, Kitchener on Monday July 31, 2023.
He was born at Stratford on March 22, 1945 a son of the late Laverne Arthur Pletsch and the former Reta Mae Binkle.
Larry was a dairy farmer prior to being cash crop farmer. He was a member of Grace United Church, Tavistock.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Kathryn (Eidt) Pletsch whom he married on March 8, 1974; five children, Sherri-Lynn Way (Mike), Gary Pletsch (Tessa Trachsel), Jason Pletsch (Loretta Subject), Cherise Pletsch (Jeremy Berger), Parry Pletsch; proud papa of Natalie, Rachel, Lauren, Megan and Bree Way; Jack and Jared Pletsch; Riley, Cara, Taylor, Emily Pletsch and Carley Berger; two sisters, Denise Smith and Donnalene Hodes (Dr. Peter); three aunts, Marg Pletsch, Shirley Binkle and Marg Binkle; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Betty Ann Eidt, Ken and Pat Eidt, Bruce Eidt; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step-mother, Rose Pletsch; his brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Margaret Pletsch; brothers-in-law, John Smith and Gary Tuer; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Kathryn Eidt and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Wednesday August 9th from 4-8 pm and Thursday August 10, 2023 from 10 – 10.45 am where the funeral service will be held at 11 am. The Rev. Marg Smith will officiate. Reception following. Interment in South Easthope United Cemetery will follow the reception.
