KIRKHAM, Denice “Dale”
June 19, 1951 — January 17, 2023
After 21 years of battling cancer, Dale Kirkham passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023. Despite the hardship, Dale was the most positive person you’d ever meet, she was caring, loving, and incredibly strong.
Dale’s creativity was extraordinary: a great seamstress and knitter, she could knit animals, and she didn’t even need a pattern; in the kitchen she was a master baker, her pie crusts were legendary; and in the garden plants and flowers flourished under her care. Dale was also quite adept at bookkeeping, her talents seem endless.
As a wife and mother, she was a gift to the family, she put her family first and showed love freely. Her kids were lucky to get the “World’s Best Mom”!
Dale goes to join her parents, Rolly & Joan, and her brother, Norman, who predeceased her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Brian, and their children, Terra (Graham) Kershaw, Dean (Patrice) and Brad; by her grandchildren, Andrea (Curt Loyd), Aodhan, and Bridget Kirkham. Dale’s memory will also be cherished by her siblings, Dean (Alma) Purmal, Gina (Ken) Nelson, and David (Kelly) Purmal; many nieces and nephews; and all her extended memory; as well as her special friends Pat & Terry Baker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer Agency – Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior, www.bccancer.bc.ca. A private family service was held to honour Dale.
