Despite Kirk’s illness, he had a deep love for his entire family. Kirk loved star trek so much that his nick name was Captain Kirk. He had an amazing collection of all the star trek movies. He was formerly a teacher’s assistant with the Fresh Start program at Lakeview Public School. He was part of Naa Construction crew many years ago, building the arbor at Clapperton Island. Kirk was an explorer and adventurer, he would often hike to the bluffs in M’Chigeeng, Otter Lake and around the community. He would often spend time in solitude visiting and feeding the animals around him. He would share stories of his adventures and being able to watch baby skunks and other animals in the spring time. He told his niece Crystal about his pets, referring to the many chipmunks in his backyard.
Kirk was also an environmentalist where he would often find and repurpose what others often discarded. He was known for his abilities for repairing many discarded machinery such as radios, TV’s and anything that was electrical. Kirk was an avid reader of both fiction, non-fiction and the news. He was well versed and knowledgeable of current happenings both in his community and the world. He loved to play Farmville and Candy crush.
