With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kinnon Alexander Ferguson, on Friday, June 16, 2023 at his home. Born in Strathroy, 82 years ago, to Wilfred and Mary Ferguson. Husband of Sandra Ferguson (nee Young) for almost 61 years. Father of Lorne Hillier (Gerarda), Lori Reid (Harold), Peter Ferguson (Tyra), Kim Ferguson, and Alex Ferguson. Brother of Donald James Ferguson (Edith), Donna Burns (Dennis) and predeceased by brother Hugh Ferguson.
Kinnon was the proud grandfather of Anita Gilliam (Adam), Jessica Ferguson, Allen Ferguson, Chris Ferguson, Andy Ferguson, Bryand DuPlessis, Tasha Vantomme, Shae Hagerty, Brooklyn Ferguson, Flo Baylis, Ken Baylis, Kass Reid, Lloyd Baylis, the late Deanna Kidd, Desiree Santsche, Maddy Reid, Cody, Liberty , Trinity, Jordan Ferguson, Olivia Hillier, Matthew Hillier (Amanda), Brendan Hillier. He was proud great grandfather of Faithyn, Evany, Madeline, Nyx, Marik, Reid, Aiden, and Lyric.
Kinnon was a licensed mechanic by trade and a self taught man who could turn his hand to anything. He retired from OES in 2006. Some would say Kinnon was resilient, others say tenacious or even stubborn. But these are some of the tools that Kinnon used to make sure that every person that crossed his path left with a bit more knowledge and definitely some type of skill even if they didn’t plan on it. Kinnon’s greatest legacy was that he was the patriarch of a very large and unique family where DNA didn’t matter to have a place in his heart. He was a mentor, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many and left this world a better place for all the things he taught us.

Sandra, Kim and family my heart is so sad to hear of Kinnen’s passing. He was such a kind man and I could not have stayed in my house as long as I did wirhout the kindness and help that Kinnen gave me. The world was a much kinder place with Kinnen in it.
