Kevin Alexander McLean died peacefully in his sleep on June 11, 2023, at home in Barrie with his wife of 26 years, Kristin, beside him. Kevin had a 3-year battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, cancer of the spinal cord, which took his ability to walk, and ultimately, his life. He was 50 years old.
Kevin leaves behind his loving wife Kristin (nee Newton) and his three teenage sons Duncan (19), Cole (16), and Ethan (15), his mother Linda McCulloch, stepfather Bob McCulloch, brother Matthew, and his four stepbrothers Sam, Tom, Martin, and Rob McCulloch.
He was an amazing family man, utterly devoted to Kristin and his sons, supporting them in whatever they wanted to do. Throughout his illness, he maintained high spirits and a sense of fun, despite the grim prognosis. Two major surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation gave Kevin an extra year and a half with his family. Long enough to see his eldest son graduate and leave for university.
A visitation to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Sharing of Memories at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at The Walkerton Masonic Hall (206 Durham Street West) The hall is located above the Walkerton Agricultural Building and an electric stair lift is available.
