Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Kenneth Lounton which occurred on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 11th, 1951, in England, he is the son of the late Kenneth and Ada (Kirby) Lounton. Ken worked as a Pipefitter at the Saint John Ship Building until closing. He went to work at ConocoPhillips in New Orleans for 3 years before retiring as Production Manager of the Halifax Ship Building in 2020. In his earlier years, Ken enjoyed hunting. He especially loved gardening and travelling. His passion was shipbuilding and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ken is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sharon (Beyea) of 41 years; son Matthew Lounton of Tokyo, Japan; daughter Erin Lounton of Quispamsis; sister Ada Thickett (Stephen) of England; nephews Kristian, James and Bradley; and many friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). As per Ken’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
