Kathleen Vickers

Kathleen passed away peacefully at the age of 97. Kathleen was born in Jasmin,
Sask. After finishing school she came to Drumheller to visit her Aunt and Uncle
and never moved by to Saskatchewan.
She meet the love of her life Jay Vickers. They were very involved with the
Drumhellers Miners hockey team. They also loved to go dancing and camping.
Kathleen worked at Eaton’s until they shut down. She then went to work for the
gas company in the office until she retired.
Kathleen was very involved with the hospital auxiliary. Her knitting and crocheting
was always in the auxiliary cupboard for sale. She loved going out for coffee with
her friends. She loved going for drives in the country.
She was predeceased by her husband Jay Vickers, her parents Fred and Laura
Hilson and sister and brother-in-law Monica and Lauria Patenaude. She is
survived by her nieces Rhonda Beres (Gerald) and family Greg and Kim & children
Taryn & William; Chris and Chelsey & children Sawyer & Beckett & Boston; Kevin
and children Kaleb & Colton & Jase; Heather and Michael (Johnson) and children
Eden & Linc & Alix; Debbie Patenaude (George Vass); Nieces and Nephews on
Jay’s side.
Graveside service will be held at a later date which will be announced.
Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Kathleen can do so to the
hospital auxiliary, Hillview or the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Hillview Lodge for the care they gave
her plus staff from Helping Hands and the wonderful nurses at the Drumheller
hospital.
