KATHLEEN MCKEEVER
Born Liverpool, England (Speke), to parents Walter and Kathleen Corrin. Wife of Derry McKeever. Survived by sons Sean, Michael, and Matthew, grandchildren Halle McKeever, Irelynnd Leschied (Andrew), Cullen McKeever, and Kieran McKeever, and great-grandchildren Iyla, Amirah, and Callum. Kathleen also leaves behind brothers David (Carol) Cairns Au, Stephen (Janet) UK, and sisters Jean (Gary Schnekenburger) Chatham, Susan (Alan Walker) UK, and Christine (Geoff Baller) UK. Sister-in-law of Patricia Polley (Bob), Cathy McKeever (Earl May), Sheila Yankovic (Bob), Jackie Kupchinski (the late Mark), and the late Danny McKeever. Special nieces Alison Hayward (deceased), and Joanne Pinsonneault. Kathleen will also be missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
Kathleen immigrated to Canada in 1966 (after watching World Cup London). She then worked in Chatham where her family lived, enjoyed planning a trip to Brazil, meeting a fellow worker Derry, whom she eventually married, and raising her family. Kathleen was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, counselling young people about life, and watching children grow and be happy. Kathleen loved her mother-in-law the late Tillie McKeever and her sisters-in-law. She enjoyed the Blue Jays, (Vladdy) was a special moment, visiting Blue Water Bridge for chips, and Seacliffe Park for coffee, but most of all she enjoyed her back deck, as nature welcomed. Kathleen will join relatives, friends, and loved ones as she journeys to the Harbour of Love, Slan go Foille chuks! The McKeever family will celebrate Kathleen McKeever’s life on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Kent Belgian Dutch Club (32 Byng Ave, Chatham), from 2pm until 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations in memory of Kathleen be made to Diabetes Canada.
