Karen Golightly passed away on September 8, 2023 at the age of 53 years.
Karen is survived by four children: Brady Golightly (Amanda Desforge), Justin Kaul (Alex Sura), Danine Kaul (Peter Wink) and Erik Kaul; two grandchildren Kaiya and Alexander; her parents Ella and Roy Golightly of Cardston, AB; Her siblings Melodie Willems (Adam) of Champion, Darcy Lowhorn of Calgary, and Al Olsen (Nathan Olsen) of Edmonton; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.
Karen lived life to the fullest, with a high energy approach to everything she did. She had a bubbly personality that left an impression on everyone she met, even if it was just once. A mother, a friend, a daughter, a sister… whoever she was to someone, she would do what she could to help each of them all the same. She loved her crafts, usually knitting and crocheting, as well as music. She sang in the church choir for many years and for the last 5 years she sang with Cool Choir, where she was able to make new friends, reconnect with old ones and let her beautiful voice be heard. Now Karen sings with a choir of angels. She will be missed.
A Funeral Service will be held for Karen at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2021 – 17 Avenue SW on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 7:00 pm. Cremation at Foothills Crematorium.
