RATHWELL, June Elizabeth peacefully at Lee Manor Care Home, Owen Sound on Sunday, April 9, 2023. June Rathwell formerly of Wiarton in her 92nd year. Beloved daughter of the late Florence (nee Geddes) and Roy Rathwell. Missed by her first cousins Eleanor Geddes-Ireland (Jim) of Owen Sound and Alex Geddes (Bev) of Ottawa and cousin-in-law Betty Geddes. Remembered by many second cousins. Predeceased by first cousins Jack Geddes and Beth Whinfield (Barry).
June grew up in Wiarton and worked as a dietician in the Newmarket area before returning to the Bruce to assist her parents in running the family farm on the corner of Highway 6 and Boat Lake Road.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at Lee Manor for the caring and compassionate attention that they gave June in her last years.
Family and friends are invited to share memories at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A spring graveside funeral service will be conducted at the Bayview Cemetery, Wiarton. The date and time will be announced when available. Expressions of remembrance to the Wiarton Hospital c/o Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation would be appreciated.
